| Jim Francis and Stacey Nadeau - Sabbatical | |
| The Sabbatical Leave Committee is a unique one. It is the only committee that is a joint committee with members of the Board of Education. It is made up of four members from TREA and four members of the Board of Education. A member of the administration participates as the moderator, but he has no vote. The decisions made are final. The Board of Education receives the committee's reports and accepts them. According to the contract, up to ten people can be granted sabbatical leaves in any given year. Those on sabbatical receive half pay and they have their benefits paid. When they return to the district, their salary is what it would have been if they had not been on leave the year before. The contract (pp. 46 and 47) gives all the details as to eligibility and requirements for those who wish to apply. Presently the committee is made up of teachers from all three levels (elementary, intermediate, and secondary). If you are interested in serving on the committee or would like more information about the process, please contact Jim Francis at High School South or Stacey Nadeau at High School East. |

| The Working Conditions Committee is intended to ensure that the school environment is healthy and safe for students and staff. Safety hazards and other health related concerns that are not being addressed satisfactorily at the building level should be brought to the attention of this committee. The committee will then proceed to use whatever resources necessary to make certain these concerns do not interfere with the educational process. |
